A roaring red flower holds water droplets in its vibrant petals. An image captured at last weekends Bloom in the Park in the Phoenix Park. This picture was taken in the Woodies exhibition in which they created a garden from products available in Woodies stores. This particular flower was part of a hanging basket which had just been watered in preperation for the hot day that was to come. And hot it was. I’m sure after a few hours of taking this picture the flower in question was thankful it harbored so many little water droplets in its petals.
I had the pleasure of visiting Bloom on the opening morning and whilst enjoying a walk in the sunshine through the walled gardens, i was lucky to catch these two furry honey bees collecting pollen from the flowers of the garden.
Bees were far from the highlight of my visit however. This years Bloom in the Park is laid out immaculately, with a score of beautifully designed show gardens, a retail arena in which you are likely to find almost anything, a haven for foodies sponsored by Bord Bia with notable appearances from acclaimed Irish Chefs such as Donal Skehan, an Entertainment stage sponsored by Arnotts and so much more.
If you are looking for a nice day out this weekend, consider heading along! Kids go free but if the weather is too nice, the little ones may get a little bit hot! Bloom in the park is on all weekend right up until Bank Holiday Monday, a nice way to spend your day off work i reckon.

Water droplets resting on top of a pink blossom. Hoping to see many more beauties like this one at Bloom 2011 in the Phoenix Park next Thursday. Hopefully adorning less water droplets, and more sun rays.
A bloom at Bloom 2010. Came across this in my unpublished archives today and with the event coming up shortly, thought it may be nice to share a morsel of what is on offer at the event
A cello player plucking strings as part of a classical trio at Bloom in the Park. Perfect post when listening to this
The hustle and bustle of Bloom in the Park had this girl looking a little stressed out.
